THE ORIGINS
Non Mortuus, my first resurrection typeface, was crafted from a love of the municipal typography of Charleston. From hexagonal tile specimens of past storefront names to the bronze cast sidewalk street signs, this vernacular type was crafted to be direct and utilitarian.
As a result, Non Mortuus is distinctive for its rythmic, monoline structure and industrial vibe. This makes it fit for use at a large-scale display in strong headlines and long-lasting, practical applications.
